A very believable romance. It's nice to read a story where the characters could be your next door neighbors. I love the assortment of characters in the book.As a few reviewers pointed out, there are some typos. HOWEVER, none of the typos stopped me from reading and enjoying this wonderful story.

Margo Choice edition by Mary Marvella Danielle BarfieldSimms Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I really enjoyed Margo's Choice - it was a romance but not sappy, a fiction but very real. The characters were very real and likeable - as well as dis-likable. I remember acting just like the teenagers in the book. If you are looking for an easy to read book that will keep your attention, check it out!
I usually try to give positive reviews but this book has some glaring problems that need to be addressed. First and foremost, it badly needs editing - both developmental and copy editing. Typos abound, switches from first person to third person or visa-versa within paragraphs, and badly done time jumps are the most irritating.
That being said, it is an interesting story with pretty realistic teenagers causing lots of conflict. The family dynamics are intriguing and keep you reading. If the author gets this professionally edited, she could have a winner.
Mary Marvella was one of my sons' teacher in elementary school. Known her for many years.
Very, very in need of proofing. More typos than I've ever encountered in one book. Distracting. Story line okay - a pleasant enough read.
Unconventionally written in first and third point of views, this story takes us deep into the problem of a family that could be your next-door neighbor's. The father continuously away to defend his country; the mother left alone to struggle, raise her daughters, work, study, help her in-laws. Separation is hard on everyone. The characters are flawed, realistic, and appealing. Each trying to survive under difficult circumstances, and protect himself/herself from hurt. Until they are forced to confront the past, their mistakes, and their feelings. An interesting story quite different from other women fictions.
The hero in this book is flawed, but the reasons behind those flaws make you want to take him in hand and teach him how to love. This is a well crafted story written with a southern voice that makes you feel like you've come home. I really enjoyed reading this story.
Margo has been divorced from her husband for years when he re-enters her life. They have a beautiful daughter who loves him from afar. However, Jay refuses to believe that she is his biological child. Margo has carried the load of parenting for a long time but is still hopeful that Jay will wake-up, grow up and acknowledge their daughter.
This is a good book with a great story-line showcasing very believable characters, warts and all.
