I really enjoyed Vickie Musni's Personalities of Business. It was simple and quick to read (which fits my personality type), easy to comprehend, and gives you valuable tools to understand your personality and those of your customers. She describes each personality type, the strengths and weaknesses and how to use those to be successful in business relationships and in life. I particularly like her section on networking because she provides specific tips to help you create better connections.

I initially invested in Personalities for Business to help better understand myself as well as my prospects/clients. What I Ieft with was something unexpected and quite honestly, more valuable.
Naturally, I noticed an almost immediate improvement establishing healthier connections with my clients, but also, with my own wife and 6 year old daughter.
Business-wise, this was a game changer as I usually try to "excite" prospects using my own energy level. Though, I learned I can do the same thing through their own little blueprint. Family-wise, let's just say this was one of the best Thanksgivings we've had, and I'm grateful for the powerful tools within this easy read.
You can judge this book by it's cover. It is fun, entertaining, unique, insightful, and extremely easy to read. I learned so much from this book and I'm really glad a friend recommended this to read. Right from the beginning she helped me figure out what color I was and to recognize other colors whom I see or deal with everyday.
Every few chapters she has some questions for you to answer to better understand your personality(color) and what makes you you. And more importantly she teaches you to read, understand, and work with other personalities(colors) around you.
I'm a DJ and own my own event entertainment service and I meet with brides all the time. Sometimes I book the clients and others I don't. Now I see why I am not booking every bride. It's because they are different colors, and you can tell a lot from a brides shoes ) I have been giving the same pitch every time, but now I know that I don't want to be too pushy with blues, and I should be quick and to the point with reds.
If you want to grow your business, increase your sales, or just get along better with people(co-workers, family, etc) than this is the book for you!

I initially received this book after I was the opening keynote for a large wedding professional education conference last summer. The author was speaking in the next session, and I attended it to see what all this stuff about colors and personalities was about.
What Vickie spoke of caused a bit of a light bulb moment - not necessarily going off, but rather surging with energy and exploding in glorious HD slow-motion.
I'm someone that loves learning how people think, how they tick, why they do the things they do. Interpersonal communication is a topic that I studied early on in my college career, well over 20 years ago. But the truth is, this stuff can be confusing to pick up sometimes. Vickie has taken the technical lingo (the stuff that typically goes over someone's head) and turned it into layman terms. It helps you absorb it and apply it faster, without thinking too much about it.
Well defined by the book, I'm about as green as one can get. Where I always got confused was in my overlaps - but she even describes how other experiences can influence how you come across, how you can take on other personality traits.
It's a quick read, even for those that don't like to read. It was easily under an hour, and that was with several distractions. The content, however, is easily applied, and easily referenced because it's such a short read.
Check it out - I promise you won't be disappointed.
Vickie has a great approach to communicating real life examples and principles towards improving business relationships. The soft skills of customer relationships, networking, and sales are often overlooked in most organizations. Personalities for Business outlines the identification of the four temperaments and the application of that understanding in a format that I will be sharing with all the associates within my team.
This book was amazing. I have heard of personality types before, but Vickie puts them in an easy to remember perspective with her color codes. She also challenges her reader with tips and ideas for business and networking that I had never thought of before. This book is definitely worth reading and rereading for every business person who wants to better relate to others, both their own team and those that want to grow their business with others.
