Alexis Pelar is being stalked by an evil which has claimed her since birth, a madman who will not rest, and cannot die. When her peaceful life is shattered by armed men invading her home, Alexis must flee with only the family gardener to protect her. An unsettling man who has always walked the fringes of her life, but now demands her absolute trust. Together with her brother Cyrus she must unravel the secrets her family has kept for millennia, and come to terms with her own disturbing past. Centurion is a classic thriller with a Christian worldview, which will keep you turning pages well into the night.

Even though this book contains a few biblical references (God, Moses, and two of the 10 Commandments) I think it's a stretch to consider this book Christian fiction, or Christian anything for that matter. It's a fast paced thriller that alternates between a mystery surrounding a contemporary teenage girl and the coming of age of a young Roman boy in the era of Anthony and Cleopatra. There is a LOT of bloodshed and violence in both stories. Some of the violence is cold-blooded killing and intentional cruelty. Some of the violence is defensive on the part of "the good guys (and girls)." Some of the violence takes place during warfare on a historic scale. There is no sexual content -- the characters are too busy pursuing violence and just staying alive to think about sex!
The story is mostly told in third person, with an occasional comment directed to the reader by an anonymous narrator that seems out of place. The conclusion is satisfying, and leaves the door wide open for a sequel, which I would be eager to read. With one of the most important characters being a teenage girl, I think the book would be suitable for mature teens. Adults with an interest in history, crime, and/or Egyptology would also enjoy Centurion.

Centurion edition by Rahn Olaso Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I really enjoyed the this story. Maybe it was because I enjoy reading about the past and the story line moved forward and back into the past in a way that I could understand the story line. Great book.
Weaving fiction with real facts was well done. Characters were believable and I felt I could identify with them. I looked up things while reading and will study the history going forward.
I had to give it 5 stars! It is very well written and I love the way history was interwoven throughout. I was pleasantly surprised when it took a turn through the Bible. I highly recommend it.
I really appreciate this story for it mixes history, believable action, and a Christian worldview. If this is your kind of thing, you cannot go wrong reading Centurion. I was quite taken by the realism and history. I will read more by Mr. Olaso.
I absolutely loved this book. The mix of characters was intriguing and the clever writing kept me on my toes. I thought I had figured out who Deek really was, but the author surprises me at the end of the book. Full of suspense, action, deep ethical principles, and plenty of clever plot twists-I couldn't put it down.
Once I started this book I could hardly put it down. The story was intriguing, suspenseful, uplifting and just wonderful. The way the author put this story together was touching and amazing. Very highly recommended reading. Loved the rat. Was just thrilled about who the most important man Deek had ever met turned out to be. I wish Rahn Olaso would write more. Sequel please. I want more of the characters story from here.
This book pulled me in right from the first paragraph. Action packed from start to finish. The book is well written with great characters, some very intriguing, leaving me wanting to know what the future holds for them. I really enjoy the way the author weaves real historical people and events into the story. I hope there is Centurion ll in the works. I like this author's style so much I plan on reading more of his books. I would recommend this book to everyone, especially those with an interest in history.
